Last week, our Next Gen leadership team had the incredible opportunity to travel to Evansville, Indiana for the 2025 KidzMatter Conference - a national gathering designed to equip and inspire those who serve in children's ministry. The event took place at the Old National Events Plaza, where thousands of leaders from across the country came together for three days of worship, learning, and fresh vision for reaching the next generation.

Representing New Beginnings Church were Pastor Kimberly Reeves, Pastor Tom Burnett, Andrea Garland, Lauren Taylor, Keeli Hood, Nikolett Knutsen, David Reeves, Hattie Beth Williams, Henley Kate Adcock, and Annie Hood.
From the moment the conference began, the team was surrounded by an atmosphere of energy, creativity, and passion for ministry. Worship filled the room as hundreds of voices lifted high, and speakers like Ryan and Beth Frank, Natalie Runion, and Ken Ham shared powerful insights and encouragement for leaders who pour into kids and families week after week.
Throughout the conference, the team attended breakout sessions covering everything from teaching strategies and parent engagement to volunteer leadership and creative ministry techniques. Each session provided new tools and practical ideas that will directly impact how we serve the kids and families at New Beginnings.
Beyond the sessions, one of the most meaningful parts of the trip was the sense of community. Our team connected with other churches, exchanged ideas, and shared stories about what God is doing in ministries around the country. It was a time of refreshing, laughter, and growth - not just individually, but as a united team.
As Pastor Kimberly shared afterward, This trip reminded us why we do what we do. Every child matters to God, and it is our calling to help them see that truth every week.
The team returned home energized and full of vision for the year ahead. Plans are already in motion to implement new ideas and strengthen how we reach and disciple kids - from Sunday mornings to special events and beyond.
We are so grateful for a church that invests in leaders and believes in the importance of raising up the next generation. The impact of this conference will continue to ripple through our ministry for months and years to come.
