A Journey of Faith and Community
A story of God's faithfulness, written through a community of believers who stepped out in faith to establish a church that empowers generations for Christ.
How We Began
In August 2020, seven couples felt a divine calling to establish a new, Spirit-filled church in Cartersville. The journey began with a foundational sermon preached by Franklin Morris, setting the stage for a community built on faith, fellowship, and a passion for reaching people with the love of Jesus.
From these humble beginnings, God has blessed New Beginnings immensely. Kimberly Reeves joined as our first staff member and Mike Looney as our first worship leader. Our pastoral team has grown to include Associate Pastor K. Ray Looney, along with his wonderful family.
Our story is a living testament to God's faithfulness. Most recently, He enabled our church family to raise over $450,000 to purchase land for a permanent home, a dream that is now becoming a reality.

Key milestones in our church's story
2020
Founded in Faith
New Beginnings was founded by Bruce & Judy Cato along with six other couples in August of 2020, with Franklin Morris preaching the first sermon.
2020
First Staff Member
Kimberly Reeves was called as our first staff member, serving as the Children and Families Pastor.
2020
First Worship Leader
Mike Looney was called to be our first Worship Leader and Choir Director, establishing our music ministry.
2021
Associate Pastor Joins
In April, Pastor K. Ray and Shelia Looney were called to lead as our Associate Pastor & Worship Leader.
2023
Student Ministry Grows
In February, Pastor Tom and Kacie Burnett were called to lead as our Student & Media Pastor.
2023
Land for a Home
In November, our church family raised over $450,000 to pay down on 28 acres of land on Center Road.
2024
One-Day Revival
In November, we hosted a one-day revival with special guest Perry Stone, where many lives were transformed and changed.
2025
5th Anniversary Celebration
In August, New Beginnings will celebrate its 5th anniversary with guest speaker Dr. Mark Walker.
